The Dons travel to Easter Road to face an in form Hibs side and come away with the three points courtesy of a late Niall McGinn strike.
A steadfast defensive display sees Jamie Langfield named as man of the match, producing fine saves from Hibs forward duo Eoin Doyle and Leigh Griffiths.
Victory secures second spot for Craig Brown’s men and the manager confesses it was a slightly fortunate win.
Sunday
The under 20’s take to the field against Hamilton in a Scottish Cup tie and at one point see their dreams of glory cut short but fight back from 2-1 down to earn a 4-2 victory over Accies.
Monday
Boss Craig Brown looks forward to Tuesday’s clash against Inverness telling the club website ‘We always go out thinking we can win a game. Even with a depleted squad I think people will acknowledge we’ve got good resources and it’s a great chance for the guys who come in to stand up to the challenge.
‘It’s a great incentive to win the game and to go to the top but I don’t want to build the expectation up too much as there is a danger when there is expectation that we don’t fulfill that so what we’ll do is go out and try our best to win this football match as we do every game. Take it on a game by game basis and after the game look where we are, not before the game.’
Tuesday
The Dons look to head to the top of the SPL as they face Inverness and look comfortable after overcoming a Barrie McKay strike to lead 2-1 after 6 minutes of the second half, courtesy of a Josh Magennis double.
However six minutes after taking the lead Warren equalised for Caley and the visitors went home with the points thanks to a late strike from McKay.
Manager Craig Brown stated afterwards ‘I’m disappointed for the fans again. In our last four games we’ve had two at home and two away and we’ve won the two away games, which isn’t going to please the support.
‘They came out in good numbers on a terrible night, and we get ourselves into a good position and then lose two soft goals, which is unacceptable.’
Elsewhere annual trading losses were announced following the release of the club’s annual accounts and the Under 20’s drew Celtic in the Cup quarter finals.
Wednesday
The under 20’s faced Dundee Utd at Glebe Park, Brechin and took the lead through Gibbons in the 24th minute although they had to settle for a 1-1 draw after United hit back minutes later.
Thursday
Promising striker Declan McManus signs a new two year deal at the club.
The 18 year old Glaswegian tells the club website ‘I am delighted to have signed the deal.
‘I can now look forward to hopefully pushing on and being involved with the first team more regularly.
‘I only entered into discussions a couple of weeks ago so everything was done pretty quickly. When I spoke to my representative I told him I wanted it over and done with as soon as possible so I could then concentrate fully on my football.’
