I can personally take it no more. The “Worst Result in Aberdeen`s Recent History” poll has to end now and the horrendous results revealed.

The two European exits to the Latvian and Irish minnows had been running neck and neck for most of the week long survey but by five o`clock we had a clear winner.

The, ehm, winner with 30% is Celtic`s November 2nd, 2002 7-0 demolition of Aberdeen. This result had taken some late backing and just nosed in front, just like their team had back then as Celtic had struggled to break Aberdeen down in the first twenty five minutes but just managed to edge the match after that.

The two embarrassing UEFA exits were close but the defeat by Skonto Riga had 25% of the vote, just beating the Bohemians defeat in `94 by 2%.

Surprisingly, this seasons League Cup exit to 3rd Division Queens Park only earned 13%. Possibly as fans are aware that a weakened team was played on that occasion but it still earned more votes than the famous Stenhousemuir Scottish Cup defeat in 1995 where a certainly not weakened Roy Aitken led team were slain by headmaster Terry Christie`s part time outfit which only had 9% of the poll.

Congratulations to Celtic for inflicting a worse defeat in the eyes of our supporters than the minnows of Europe and Scotland could inflict which is a quite remarkable feat which prompted this after match reaction from Great Dane Ebbe Skovdahl ‘It was a difficult afternoon even though our first 25 minutes was the best I have seen from us at Parkhead.
