Our season has started slower than a Daewoo Matiz but things are looking up from here. After walking over Partick Thistle we’ve been handed an exquisite quarter final draw that is a visit from our northern neighbours Inverness. And with a game at home to Gretna this Saturday, it looks like the sun has shone through the clouds onto Pittodrie.
When we put ourselves 4 points clear of this weekend’s opponents, we can go to Ukraine full of confidence, ready to trample on Dnipro and soar through to the group stages of the UEFA Cup.
Maybe I’m being a tad optimistic and we are Aberdeen after all, when have we ever taken route one?
Big Zander is a hopeful but is no stranger to pain and I’m sure he’ll pull through along with Jackie Mac. And it appears Steve Lovell has recovered from the common cold.
