Aberdeen`s injury worries are clearing at exactly the right time as the season comes to it`s most crucial point. Jimmy Calderwood has been denied the services of four of his key men for around two months and it`s testament to the strength of the Dons squad that they are still in the Euro Champions League qualifying hunt which will goes to first and second placed teams.

There is no doubt that they have been missed, especially when they flu virus ravaged the squad around Christmas time but now, hopefully, their re-appearance will inject some freshness and inspiration during the final crucial games.

Jimmy spoke of his delight at the imminent availability of some of some of his top stars.

He said ‘Zander trained today and was magnificent – straight into things immediately. He was right back to his old self and showing a great attitude and character. Craig Brewster did not train today as he was away on personal business but will return tomorrow. Jamie Smith was feeling a little twinge. Hopefully it is nothing but we are not taking any chances and will see how he is in the morning but hopefully both will train then.

All three could still come into contention for Saturday – we will give them every chance. Even to have the likes of Jamie on the bench on Saturday would be a big boost. We are also hopeful that Russell and Chris Maguire who did not make the trip to Dublin will be fit in time for the trip to the Falkirk Stadium.’
