We`ve ran the poll long enough, the results for the poll “What`s Most Important For Aberdeen Next Season?” are not gonna change much so it`s clear where you the fans, who voted in their hundreds, think Aberdeen should be heading next season.

Top of the tree and by some way is Aberdeen qualifying for the UEFA group stages.

The increased revenue through ticket sales and TV deals, enhanced club profile and just the sheer entertainment of seeing the Mighty Dons and the Red Army face some of Europe`s top clubs as well as bringing back the famous Pittodrie glory nights that have been long missing are some of the aspects which combined to draw a fairly conclusive 47% of the vote.

It maybe puts a bit of pressure on Calderwood and Co to ease past the one qualifying round they have to play and into the lucrative five team per group stages but no-one said success would be easy.

Next important but clearly along the same vein as the top choice was holding onto 3rd place in the league as this would bring European football again next season as well as confirming the Dons as being back amongst the Scottish elite and hopefully on the road to domestic success.

Presumably, fans expect the Old Firm to be too strong to be split and just holding off Hibs and their new wealth as well as another probable challenge from their city rivals Hearts meant that “Holding onto 3rd place” gained a hefty 27%.

Next important to you the fans was Aberdeen FC keeping Russell Anderson. Fans obviously do not see their club progressing without their Player of the Year nominated captain so with an impressive 8% of the total, holding onto Russell Anderson has been deemed more important than even winning a trophy.

The rest of the opinions didn`t really gather enough votes to merit discussion, perhaps some thought they were unrealistic but if you`d like to speak about way you voted for any of the other options then head for the Vital Aberdeen Forum and vent your spleen.

Full poll results for “What`s Most Important For Aberdeen Next Season?”

Making the UEFA Group Stages 47%

Splitting The Old Firm 4%

Making The Top Six 3%

Winning The SPL 2%

Thanks again for voting, we had a great response and it tells a lot about the mood of the fans at present as well as the club with an optimistic fell good factor around Pittodrie at present.

Take a second to cast your vote on “Who`d you like for the Number 1 Shirt?” on the new Vital Aberdeen Poll (suggested by Vital Aberdeen member dons2-0gers) as rumour, speculation, greed and necessity combine to make another interesting discussion.
