The Dons were able to give the boys who have just returned from injury another test yesterday ahead of the Hearts crunch match at the weekend.

Jamie Smith, Craig Brewster and Zander Diamond all played in the 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock reserves in a bid to boost their match fitness and Jimmy will be delighted to see that all came through unharmed. Jamie Smith played 65 minutes in what was a good test against a tough side before being withdraw as a safety precaution.

Despite the Dons bringing such a strong side which also included Dyron Daal and Karim Touzani, they fell behind in the 75th minute to a Rocco Quinn strike and it took youngster Chris Maguire`s goal on the 84th to give the sides a share at Rugby Park.

The Dons are currently languishing near the bottom of the reserve league in stark contrast to last season when they finished third which may highlight the managers lack of strength in depth. As in the SPL, Celtic are cruising the competiton and are ahead by 13 points with only 6 games to play.
