As if to underline Jimmy Calderwood`s recent plea for the club to increase his quality of strength in depth, an experienced Aberdeen reserve side lost 1-0 away to a string Falkirk second string and the Under 19`s lost to the Falkirk equivalent at home 3-0.

Sandy Clark fielded a team with much first team experience but Pedro Moutinho`s goal after 55 minutes sunk the away side.

The Dons team sheet for the game was Soutar in goal, Donald, S. Smith (Neill 62), Winter, Strachan, Touzani, Bagshaw, McVitie, Daal (Kiely 31), Miller, Maguire.

The result leaves the Dons reserve side 3rd bottom in the reserve league, bad news since they`ve actually played more games than those below them too. A repeat of last seasons` 3rd place finish looks highly unlikely.

he Aberdeen Under 19’s faired no better than the Dons seconds as they too lost to their Falkrirk counterparts. A 3-0 away defeat saw their recent good run in which they has defeated leaders Celtic in Glasgow come to an ubrupt end at Balgownie. The Dons had good chances in the game and should have scored through Ryan Strachan and Brian Neill but it was Robertson for Falkirk who had the final say when he netted the home sides third to give the match an unfair reflection.

Team sheet for the Aberdeen Under 19`s

Stewart, Crawford, Stuart Smith, Bagshaw, Thomas, Strachan, Jones, McVitie, Paton (Stirling Smith), Kiely (Lamberty), Neill
