One Premier League ‘keeper, Danny Ward, is already at Aberdeen with the Dons taking a look at another in the shape of Nicholas Pistol.

Pistol, as the Evening Express reports, has already turned out for the U20 side this week as part of his trial.

If Pistol did come to Aberdeen the Man City ‘keeper would be part of the Dons U20 squad, with another ‘keeper being sought following an injury to Robbie Mutch, who will apparently be out for ‘a lengthy spell’ due to a kidney injury in training.

No news on a possible deal, in whatever capacity it could be, has been mentioned since he played for the U20 side against Highland League side Forres Mechanics with him keeping a cleansheet in a one-nil win at Mossett Park.

Liverpool’s Ward is currently the no.1 at Pittodrie but he’ll return to Anfield at the end of the season, perhaps before, so Pistol could become a future option for the Dons?
