Aberdeen host Hearts this weekend in what could be a crucial game in the hunt for Europe. A win would see the Dons close to within a point of the Gorgie outfit, while defeat would leave them with another mountain to climb.
Scott Severin spoke to redweb:
“We all know how big a game it is on Saturday. It will be close to a full house with many excited fans returning over Christmas which will be great for the players.”
Jimmy Calderwood spoke of his hopes for another clean sheet:
“We were giving away really stupid goals at the start of the season, but we have started to pick up quite a few clean sheets lately. Hopefully we can get another one on Saturday against Hearts”
Long term injuries Tommy Wright and Stuart Duff will miss out but Jamie Smith may be fit enough to take a place on the bench after returning to training this week.
The Aberdeen skipper returns to play the Tynecastle Club, where he played for 7 years. A recent return to form and the fact he is allowed to talk to other clubs in less than a week make him a player to watch. A battle with Christian Nade is guaranteed
Hearts have injury doubts in the form of Andy Driver, Bruno Aguiar and Ruben Palazuelos. While David Obua, Juho Makela and Mike Tallberg are definitely out.
rumour has it he is leaving in January with Bolton and Portsmouth interested. His performance will be watched and noted.
