Sad but true, Aberdeen have succumbed to the Old Firm pressure and agreed to give Rangers the so called 5% administration fee when they visit Pittodrie on the 23rd of this month.

In the Sunday Mail, Aberdeen claim it is due to security reasons. ?!. Managing director Duncan Fraser said, ‘We have security and distribution arrangements that are unique to games against the Old Firm. In the last five or six years those matches have passed almost without incident and only minimal arrests if any. So we felt it was best that Rangers continue to distribute the away tickets.’

What a load of pish.

AFC are directly making the money gap between the Old Firm and the rest of the SPL clubs even wider.

Doing some basic maths, a ticket for the away section at Pittodrie costs £21. The Old Firm get about 5000 tickets; 5000 multiplied by 21 is £105,000. 5% of £105,000 is £5250. Are the Old Firm saying it costs £5250 to distribute tickets for a single game?

If they are, they are lying. Over the course of the season, with 19 away games, they will have made £99,750 from this ‘admin fee’.

But next year, they won’t stop there, it will rise to 10, 15, 20 percent, and in the end clubs actually won’t be making that much from the Old Firm’s visits.

Our joke of a football club just became an even bigger joke.
