Former Aberdeen favourite Brian Irvine, has taken over as Manager of Elgin City.

The 40 year old who was a youth coach at Ross County, has taken his first steps into Management.

Having played with Ross County,Dundee and his boyhood heroes Aberdeen, who he famously lifted the 1990 Scottish Cup after scoring the winning goal in a 9-8 penalty shoot out victory against Celtic.

He has also played for his country nine times winning his first cap against Romania in 1991 and his last against Holland in 1994.

Brian is a big gentle giant and very likeable guy and I am sure that all Dons fans will wish him all the very best in his new role.
