For the second time in a week Hearts and Aberdeen would meet each other at Tynecastle and as the Old Firm match was on the Sunday, this clash was the match of the day !
Aberdeen had revenge on their minds after going out of the Scottish Cup 3-0 the previous week,as they felt that they were hard done by and were looking to put things right this weekend !
The Dons started well but it was to be the home side that would have the first chance of the match when Rudi Skacel had an early chance which he shot just past the post.Skacel was involved in the all of the early Hearts play and it was no surprize when he set up Elliot to touch the ball past Langfield to put the home side 1-0
Hearts were looking to attack the Dons at every attempt and Skacel was the man they had most to fear in the opening exchanges.
The Dons were not going to make the same mistakes as last week and started to come back into the match forcing Craig Gordon to earn his money with a couple of saves from free-kick’s from Nicholson and Griffen as they
started to get a grip on the match !
The Dons were now the team who looked the most likely to score and when they did it came from the Hearts captain.
Great play from Snoyl and McNaughton ended with the Dutchman having his shot saved by Gordon but as the ball was played back into the danger area,Pressley knocked it into his own net to level the match.
The Dons then pressed for the winner with Snoyl again having a shot saved by Gordon but they would get the winner that their play so deserved.
Snoyl was again involved getting the ball to Chris Clark
who curled a shot past Gordon to give the Dons a 2-1 lead
and a deserved win !
Jimmy Calderwood 8-Great win for the Dons !
Graham Rix 7-has done well with all that is going on at Tynecastle.
