Aberdeen have lost one international striker with David Goodwillie leaving but have brought in another, who is a current international striker with Goodwillie in the ‘former’ bracket really, with Simon Church coming to Pittodrie.

Church has signed on loan from Milton Keynes Dons until the end of the season with Goodwillie leaving for Ross County, also until the end of the season.

27-year-old Church has the added incentive of impressing for what’s left of the campaign as it ‘could’ not only bring him a Scottish Premiership title winners medal (all being well) he’s looking to impress to ensure he keeps his place in the Welsh squad ahead of the Euros this summer.

Goodwillie himself will hope he’ll get regular football at Ross, who beat Celtic on Sunday to make the League Cup Final, which he’ll be cup-tied for I’d think?
