The Aberdeen run in the Scottish Cup is over for another year after the fourth round defeat against Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday.

A Callum Paterson header, early on, proved the difference between the two sides to end the Aberdeen hopes of cup success for another year.

Danny Ward (who has now returned to Liverpool with them recalling the ‘keeper) pushed up for Aberdeen late on for a corner as the Dons pushed for an equaliser, with Niall McGinn and Ash Taylor also going close but it wasn’t to be.

These were the other results.

Some interesting results, with some upsets, but on the whole those expected to go through did go through! Well, I would say anyway.

Certainly no major upsets with some comfortable wins, especially for the ‘favoured’ teams.

Following the defeat we know our name isn’t going to be in the pot for the next round so it’ll be a case of ‘concentrating on the league!’

Who was the Aberdeen Man of the Match in this game? That’s what the latest poll is asking so do cast a vote.

Did a starter, or someone from the bench, offer the most?

Select the name you want from the list in the poll to your right, we’re also looking for your thoughts and views too so do share some of those with your comments below.
