Aberdeen would have been disappointed not to come away from Macedonia with a win against Shkendija in the Europa League qualifier but a draw and no serious injury to Mark Reynolds would be taken.

An injury saw the defender undergo treatment before he was forced off to be replaced by summer signed Paul Quinn, who made his Dons debut, but the extent of the injury to the Scotland man was our main concern and Derek McInnes was concerned.

In the wake of the one-one draw McInnes feared a dislocated shoulder or even a fracture and that would have been a huge blow for him and us with him facing a long-term lay-off….

Fortunately the news is good as following an x-ray Reynolds hasn’t broken his shoulder although he did dislocate it so we’ll still mean a spell on the sidelines but nowhere near as long as it would have been had it been the worst case scenario!
