Aberdeen have good options for the ‘here and now’, we’ve also got good options ‘for the future’ already at the club but this doesn’t stop you looking for more does it, with both of these views in mind!

Thomas Atyeo, who was with Swansea until his release at the end of last season, has been given the chance to earn himself a contract with the Dons.

Welsh defender Atyeo, who has played international for Wales at youth levels from U16 up, was deemed surplus to requirements by the England Premier League Swans this summer and is looking for a new club.

If the 19-year-old does enough to impress, he’s turned out for us already for the U20 side in the three-nil win over Nairn County this week, he could find himself winning a contract at Pittodrie.

Should the central defender manage this he’ll not come into Derek McInnes’ first-team squad just yet as he’ll be looking to work his way up as part of Paul Sheerin’s U20 squad, where standards are high with us currently the Scottish Development League champions of course!
