Aberdeen’s Scottish Premiership season got underway with a win at Dundee United on Sunday, in the live Sky Sports encounter to kick-start the 2015/16 season.

Well, the season started in as much as the league campaign goes! The Dons have already been involved in plenty of European nights, including the mammoth trek to Kazakhstan the Thursday prior to this game.

Match Stats

McInnes, as had been expected, did make changes to the Aberdeen line up following that two-one defeat in Almaty with Flood able to return from injury to also take on the captain’s armband. Four came in as for dropped out.

A frantic opening 45-minutes, most of the 90-minutes really, ended scoreless with Dundee United having the best chance of the half. But, after a Quinn error, Bilate from around the penalty spot saw his effort saved by Liverpool loanee Ward, who continues his fine form to start his Dons loan.

With Considine missing the best Aberdeen chance, when his effort was cleared off the line, late on a draw was looking on until McLean’s (82) looping header, clearly an attempted flick on from Goodwillie’s cross bizarrely ending up in the back of the net on 82-minutes to give the Dons a one-nil win and a winning start to the new season.
