Having been training with the club on a pseudo trial basis since just before the beginning of March, Andrew Driver has now secured himself a deal.

The 27 year old former Hearts player, had moved to the MLS and Houston Dynamo but had been clubless following his release in November.

He came to the club courtesy of his agent to help him keep fit and manager Derek McInnes admitted it wasn’t a strict trial spell, but he wouldn’t rule out offering a deal if the player impressed.

It seems he did impress as we have now handed him, and he’s signed, a short term deal at Pittodrie until the end of the current season.

Speaking to the press about the capture of the midfielder today, McInnes said.

‘I’m delighted to get Andy on board. Hopefully he will make the most of this opportunity we’ve given him. During his time with us I believe there has been enough to suggest that he can be a good addition to our squad.’
