Eugene Who?

One particular Aberdeen related story caught my eye this week; namely that ex-Aberdeen striker Eugene Dadi is “dreaming” of a return to Pittodrie.

To be honest, I didn`t know Eugene Dadi was still in the game. According to the Evening Express he is however, and at 35, now plays with Perth Glory in Australia`s A League. And it certainly seems he is keen to return to Pittodrie having apparently been in contact with Jimmy Calderwood by phone and having been quoted by the Evening Express as saying “Aberdeen still holds a special place in my heart”.

The Question is then: do the Dons want Dadi back? The simple answer is no. In a follow up Evening Express article Calderwood was quick to rule out a loan deal for the Ivory Coast hitman explaining “I have Lee Miller and Tommy Wright who are both big targetmen”
So the odds of this one happening are nil. But it did get me thinking back to Dadi`s time at Aberdeen. He played only one season (01-02), scoring just 5 goals. I don`t seem to remember much about his ability, only his persona. But with that scoring record and his best years probably behind him, it is maybe best Dadi does not make a dramatic return. Put it this way if it were Dadi or Windass I know who I would prefer.

What do you think?
