Aberdeen are represented in the latest Scottish Professional Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The best eleven was selected by Craig Fowler.

The performance by Jonny Hayes in Aberdeen’s one nil victory over Hearts at the weekend at Pittodrie was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Scottish League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Hayes was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the SPFL blurb read.

‘The winger put in a tremendous display in Aberdeen’s 1-0 victory over Hearts that pushes them seven points clear of the Tynecastle club in second place. In the first half, in particular, Hayes was at the heart of every Dons attack as the hosts dominated the visitors. His ability to run with the ball and cross with both feet was a nightmare for Hearts to defend.’

It’s always good to see us represented in this way, and well played to Hayes for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the victory.

Full Team:

Neil Parry (Airdrieonians), Ben Richards-Everton (Dunfermline Athletic), Jason Marr (Alloa Athletic), Dedryck Boyata (Celtic), Jonny Hayes (Aberdeen), Tom Rogic (Celtic), Dylan Easton (Elgin City), Iain Vigurs (Inverness Caledonian Thistle), Louis Moult (Motherwell), Nadir Ciftci (Celtic), Darren Smith (Sterling Albion).
