Aberdeen recently received a request for goalkeeper Jamie Langfield to mark his decade with the club with a testimonial match, and that has now been arranged.

Having joined the club from Dunfermline Athletic FC back in the summer of 2005, Langield has now gone on to make over 300 appearances for the club, and the Paisley born stopper has represented both Scotland B and been in the full squad on a number of occasions.

As part of his testimonial year, a game has now been arranged for pre season that will see English Championship side Brighton and Hove Albion travel up to Pittodrie on Sunday July 26 for a 3pm kick off.

Langfield told the Official Site.

‘My family and I are delighted that I have received this tremendous honour. I have been very fortunate to spend the best years of my career with such a fantastic club and I believe 2015/16 will be another excellent season for the team.’

Chairman of The Jamie Langfield Testimonial Committee Ian McIntosh went on to add about his testimonial year.

‘I am delighted that the Club has agreed to our request to honour Jamie’s decade of service to the Club. The game against Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. will be the first of three planned events to include a dinner and golf day. Jamie has been a player who has always given his all to the Club and this testimonial is a fitting reward.’
