ABERDEEN 0 DUNFERMLINE 0

Neither Aberdeen or Dunfermline could break the deadlock in this game at Pittodrie, Dunfermline can find themselves lucky that they gained a point here as Aberdeen were the better side but just couldn’t finish their chances.

It was like a reunion with players on either side playing against their former clubs and of course Jimmy Calderwood and Jimmy Nicholl facing their old players. Derek and Darren Young were in the Pars side against their old team and Aberdeen had ex Pars Stevie Crawford, Barry Nicholson and Jamie Langfield.

Ex Pars Nicholson and Stevie Crawford had good chances to score against their old team but couldn’t finish them off.

Darren Young had a good chance to win it for Dunfermline with a free-kick which was deflected just wide but the game finished goalless.

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood puts Aberdeen’s poor form down to lack of confidence.

Aberdeen: Langfield, McNaughton, Anderson, Diamond (Foster 45), Considine, Nicholson, Winter (Mackie 45), Clark, Byrne, Crawford, Smith.
Subs Not Used: Esson, Dempsey, Stewart, Muirhead, Baas.

Dunfermline: McGregor, Shields, Tod (Burchill 50), Labonte, Campbell, Ross, Mason, McCunnie, Makel (Darren Young 64), Hunt, Derek Young (Craig Wilson 87).
Subs Not Used: Halliwell, Tarachulski, Horsted, Thomson.
