In a temporary capacity anyway!

Aberdeen, ahead of the Partick win on Saturday, confirmed on the Official Website that Liverpool defender Ryan McLaughlin had come in on loan.

Danny Ward, with Aberdeen on a season-long loan, has been excellent in goal for the Dons so far and he’s been joined at Pittodrie by his Liverpool teammate McLaughlin on loan until January.

The 20-year-old right back, who has been with Liverpool for four-years and spent a spell last season on loan with English League 1 side Barnsley, is a Northern Ireland international.

On his arrival Derek McInnes said.

‘I’m really pleased we’ve managed to bring Ryan to the Club. He’s a player who has always impressed us and will give us good options in the months ahead.

‘Ryan has the quality needed to play with us at Aberdeen and we are looking forward to working closely with him. Ryan’s eagerness to join us over others also give us great encouragement.’

If McLaughlin can have a fraction of the impact at Pittodrie that Ward has we’ll not go far wrong!

A debut couldn’t come in that Patrick win, however it could against Celtic after the international break with McInnes already up for this, telling BBC Scotland.

‘Pittodrie will be rocking, it’ll be a full house. There’s a belief we can win the game.’
