Aberdeen’s ‘keeper position could be strengthened in the summer with Man City’s Angus Gunn being linked whereas one of the players recently released, Joe Shaughnessy, has signed for St Johnstone.

Gunn should be a familiar name as his Dad is none other than our former ‘keeper Bryan (of course pictured) so his son could follow in his footsteps as reports say that we’ve had scouts watch the 19-year-old who could come to Pittodrie on a season-long loan next term.

Shaughnessy definitely isn’t going to be in our squad next season, as he’s rarely managed this season anyway, as he was informed last week he wasn’t getting a new contract. Following his release St Johnstone have signed the defender on a two-year contract though so he’s not taken long to fix himself up.

Finally, to wrap up the Aberdeen news in the past couple of days, Niall McGinn has been called up by Northern Ireland for the summer internationals with Qatar and Romania.
