Jimmy Calderwood has challenged everyone at Aberdeen and involved witj the club to match his ambition and take the club forward.

After killing all speculation linking him with Leicester, he has not totally ruled the prospect out of leaving at some point and has given a little dig to those he perhaps feels are not doing enough to help him in his pursuit of returning the glory years back to the north east.

He told Reds Online, I will never be unhappy at Aberdeen.

‘You can’t be unhappy at such a great club, that’s got nothing to do with what has gone on over the last few days.

‘I just need to know what the ambitions of the club are now.

‘I want to know if we are going to be going further than we have so far.’

It`s reassuring that he appears to still have all his enthusiasm but it`s clear he`s getting tired of slow progress and little backing from the board financially and from the fans in turn outs.

Regardless, he`s dedicated to the cause and insists he`s putting the club before himself.

‘It’s not about financial gains for me or anyone else.

‘It’s about seeing where we all want to go to and how we are going to get there.

‘I’ve not finished the job I set out to do at Aberdeen.

‘You can’t rest on your laurels and I want to see how far the club are willing to take things.

‘We have a good squad of players, even though we haven’t done as well as we wanted so far.

‘I want to be sure we can keep them together and build on things even further.

‘I want success for the club, I don’t want to see us slipping back.’

Great to hear it Jimmy but hopefully the link away from Pittodrie could be enough to persuade the money men, or man, that a cash injection is well overdue and deserved.

Reckon Calderwood should have gone to City?
Think he`ll stick around much longer?
