Manager Derek McInnes has previewed the game on Wednesday evening where we host Inverness CT at Pittodrie.

Aberdeen don’t have much time to dwell on the nil-nil draw with Falkirk on Saturday as we’re back in action on Wednesday; ahead of the Inverness visit to Pittodrie Derek McInnes shared his thoughts.

Speaking to the media in his usual pre game press conference, the gaffer went on to explain that we were obviously expecting a very tough encounter and as history shows there isn’t usually a lot between the two sides, but with the disappointment of the previous match he is looking for a response from the players.

‘We have managed to beat them twice already this season home and away but both matches were very tight and fiercely contested. They know a lot about us but we know a lot about them, there is definitely a familiarity about both sides. They are still a team we have a healthy respect for. It is a big game and hopefully we show that in the performance.’

McInne went on to say that we have had some good consistency in recent times and he’s looking for that to return again now, so hopefully we can end the season on a high.

‘We are looking forward to the game and it cannot come quick enough, especially after Saturday when we did not play anywhere near to the level we are capable of. Any time the players have had a disappointing result or put in a performance below what we are capable of we have always responded and I am sure it will be no different on Wednesday.’

In terms of team news, he also confirmed that the only player missing was Russell Anderson.
