Josh Parker, as we know, completed a loan move to Aberdeen from Red Star Belgrade earlier in the week.

I was going to try and fit the Serbian sides name into the title but just went with ‘star’ in the end as it was easier!

Anyway, back to the point….

The Antigua & Barbuda captain came to the Dons on a three-month loan deal that will see him at Pittodrie until the New Year initially with Derek McInnes boosting the Dons’ attacking options as we look to once again apply the pressure to Champions Celtic this term, however Hearts have made a flying start to the season too!

Aberdeen’s hasn’t been bad though has it at all! The two-nil Dundee win maintained our 100% Scottish Premiership record, with this win making it our best start to the season since the 1991/92 campaign.

McInnes had already spoken highly of the 24-year-old following his loan arrival but after his cameo debut appearance on Saturday he spoke to BBC Scotland about him again.

The Dons boss said the well travelled striker, who has played in Slovenia but mainly in England with QPR, Wycombe, Oldham and Oxford to name but a few, was ‘itching’ to get on at Pittodrie and has backed him to do ‘extremely well’ during his time at the club.

‘He was itching to get on and we were itching to get him on.

‘I’ve got a feeling he’s going to do extremely well for us.’

On the importance of our latest win McInnes added.

‘Last season it took us a while to find any sort of consistency, it’s important to get into your stride as quickly as possible.

‘Everybody’s playing their part.’
