Mark McGhee says his Motherwell side are the best Scottish Premier League team outside the Old Firm.

Well said McGhee.

Even though that may not be 100% true, who cares? I’d rather read Jimmy Calderwood state at the start of the season we were going to win the league and him make an arse of himself than say ‘we know our limitations’ i.e. we’re aiming for around 4th/top 6 at least. You never finish higher than what you aim for, and that’s why we will never finish higher than 3rd until we aim to do so.

Another case, although this could be Calderwood’s lack of ‘marketing’ ability, is when the transfer window comes around. While Hibs always seem to somehow sell some cack to the Old Firm to sit on the bench for the next 3 years for around £2,000,000+, when Lee Miller’s contract is nearing it’s end, Calderwood advertises the fact that ‘we know if the Old Firm come in with an offer of seven figures then we just can’t turn down that kind of money at this football club’. When in fact we CAN. If Kevin Thomson is worth £2,000,000…

That’s all folks.
