Yes you read correctly, Aberdeen dry humped Dutch amateurs SV Rietvogels 10-0 last night. They are only amateurs after all, but for Aberdeen to even have 10 shots on target in 90 minutes is somewhat of a success by our current standards.

There were 10 goals but only 5 scorers. Scott Severin, Peter Pawlett, Jeffrey de Visscher, Michael Paton, Chris Maguire and trialist Dyon Camero who grabbed 4.

However, I was shocked to read in the Evening Express today that Camero may not be being offered a contract. What is the point in giving a player a trial with absolutely no intention of giving them a contract? All 4 goals were apparently ‘composed finishes’, rounding the keeper for one.

I also noted a certain 2 people weren’t at the game yesterday – Jimmy Calderwood and Darren Mackie. Some coincidence that when neither are involved that we score 10 goals.

A nice boost is that the youngsters, Pawlett and Paton, as well as Maguire although he is already a first team player, all got on the scoresheet. Maybe they could give a few tips to the older strikers, also known as the two picked if fit no matter what.

There was a familiar face in the crowd. Ex-Aberdeen fans’ favourite Dutch goalkeeper Theo Snelders popped along and spoke with the a few members of the red army, even apparently attempting to join in with a song or two. Legend.
