The Mighty Robert Fik has finally made up his mind and he will not be an Aberdeen player next season.

Jimmy Calderwood was always battling to convince a man whose family clearly did not want uprooted and because of this, Jimmy won`t be getting a player he obviously saw as being a useful addition to his swelling ranks.

The way the deal has ended has left a sour note as after a month of pampering, chasing and wooing the amateur striker to the club, Fik did not contact Calderwood directly to tell him of his decision to turn down the Dons.

A deflated Jimmy said,’A lot of people at the club have done a lot of hard work to get Robert to join us, particularly Willie Miller and David Johnston.

‘We had him over to see us twice and he seemed really enthusiastic about coming here. I know he had a big decision to make about moving his family to a new country. I have had the same kind of decision to make myself in the past. But the annoying thing is that I did not get to speak to the player myself at the end.

‘He didn’t even have the good manners to phone me and tell me he wouldn’t be coming. Instead, he got his agent to call the office and that has really riled me.’

Another man who`ll not be wearing the Aberdeen colours this season is Richard Lee who is apparently a goalkeeper at Watford but even if Jamie Langfield is jettisoned out the door, Lee will not be his replacement as Jimmy fairly conclusively said ‘I have never even heard of Richard Lee.’

In other Dons related news, previous Calderwood target Ferrie Bodde has secured a transfer to English League one side Swansea City

So the Dons will continue their search for another striker and the names of goalkeepers will keep being linked with the club so if you hear any rumours, spot Buffon or Henry walking down Union Street then get on the Vital Aberdeen Forum and spread the word.
