Striker Adam Rooney has been nominated for the PFA Scotland Player of the Year Award for 2014-15.

The voting for the Awards has now closed and the shortlist has been announced for the Player of the Year Award and the Young Player of the Year Award.

In the senior category Rooney is joined by Celtic duo Virgil van Dijk and Stefan Johansen and Dundee’s Greg Stewart.

In the youth category, Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s Ryan Christie, Celtic’s Jason Denayer and Hearts duo Sam Nicholson and Jamie Walker have been named.

The winners will be announced on Sunday May 3.

PFA Scotland chief executive Fraser Wishart said briefly.

‘This is the top award for players. There is no greater honour in football than to be voted the best player in your country by your fellow professionals.’
