Scotland Manager Walter Smith, has his work cut out if the country are to qualify for Euro 2008.

They have been drawn in Group B which many are calling the group of death already such is the task facing Walter and his men.

The Group is as follows

Group B

France
Italy
Ukraine
Scotland
Lithuania
Georgia
Faroe Islands

The Scots have already faced Italy twice in the last year and lost 2-0 in Walter’s first match in Italy and drew 1-1 at Hampden when Kenny Miller scored and lead the line up front and was fantastic,as was the whole team that day !

Scotland also played France in Berti’s first match in charge and lost 5-0 but they did beat them 2-0 a few years ago with Mo Johnstone scoring a superb overhead kick.

They have played both Lithuania and the Faroe Islands when they were in the same group as they tried to qualify for 2004 before they were beaten by Holland in the play-off’s.

They lost 1-0 to Lithuania with a Razanauskas penalty in April 2003 but winning by the same scoreline at Hampden in October with Darren Fletcher scoring the winner.

The Faroe Islands held the Scots to a 2-2 draw in September 2002 after being two goals up ! But they got their revenge in the September of 2003 when goals from McCann,Dickov and McFadden gave them a 3-1 win.

Ukraine will have some quality in their side with one world class player that comes to mind,Andrei Shevchenko !

And I am sure that Georgia will cause the Scots problems also,so the Scots are up against it before a ball is kicked !

But Good Luck to Walter and the boys !
