Aberdeen have today confirmed that Lawrence Shankland has headed out for a loan spell until the end of the current campaign.

He has made the move to St Mirren for the remainder of the year.

Having signed for us from Queen’s Park back in the summer of 2013, he was the top scorer in the Development League last season with 31 goals, and it’s hoped his step up to more regular first team action will really aide his development.

Aberdeen do hold a January recall clause on the youngster though.

This spell out will build on the experience he had with Dunfermline Athletic during the second half of 2013-14, where he made 14 appearances for them, scoring seven times.

Hopefully all will go well for the lad and he’ll get into good double figures again for games, with a suitable goal return.
