Sorrento in for Dons Italian defender

Grassi recently verbally agreed a one-year deal with Aberdeen but has yet to sign the contract.

Now Italian lower league side Sorrento look set to step in and take Grassi back to Italy.

This looks to be yet another blow for Aberdeen who have lost a number of experienced players in the close season.

With pre-season training starting Monday and the start of the new season fast approaching, McGhee needs to start making some signings or begin the new season with a vastly weakened squad from the one that finished 9th last season.
