Aberdeen’s season’s technically been up and running for a number of weeks now but ‘officially’ this begins with the Scottish Premiership opener at Dundee United on Sunday afternoon.

With the Dons looking to go one better than last season, finishing runners-up to Celtic, the Premiership season begins with a trip to Tannadice on Sunday against Dundee United in a live Sky Sports encounter at 3:30pm.

Dundee United have ‘plenty of options’ for Jackie McNamara to go with. Darko Bodul and fellow signing Simon Murray are battling for a starting place with Mario Bilate possibly also involved along with Rodney Sneijder, the younger brother of Dutch legend Wesley.

Ryan Dow and Callum Morris (knocks) both miss out after pre-season setbacks.

The Dons, back from a mammoth trek to Kazakhstan will almost certainly make changes.

Almaty Task But Dons Have Hope

Derek McInnes will be keen to switch around as much, but not too much when it comes to key personnel, following the two-one Europa League defeat to FC Kairat in Almaty. Not only after that defeat and journey but also with the second leg at Pittodrie on Thursday also in mind.

Only Mark Reynolds (shoulder surgery) does sit this one out though.

Which way will this one go….a positive start to the Premiership season for the Dons?
