I have three quick snipets of Dons news for you today and they are as follows.

1)The club are looking to follow Hearts example of funding a top class training base.Willie Miller is negotiating with Aberdeen University to try for a proposed development at Linksfield.

The University and local council are trying to raise £22.7 million to fund this development.

Willie said,’Negotiations are at an early stage but we have a long relationship and hope this will be mutually beneficial’.

Jimmy Calderwood had said only last week that the facilities in this country were an embarassment and maybe he will see that Hearts and the Dons are trying to do something about it !

2)Former Dons player Noel Whelan,is back training at Pittodrie to try and improve his fitness.
Whelan has rejected a short term offer at Livingston and has said that he would play for the Dons for free as he feels he let himself and the supporters down when he last played for them.No contract offer is on the table but it will be interesting to see what happens if the big likeable Whelan does overcome his problems and get back to fitness !

3)Jimmy Calderwood has hit out at suggestions that Kevin McNaughton will leave Pittodrie for Dundee United in the summer,Jimmy said that a move to the Old Firm or England would be a step up for Kevin but anywhere else would be a step down.
He also stated that the Dons were still interested in keeping him as he has performed well this season.
