Dons priority on striker

Willie Miller has insisted that the Dons priority is finding a striker not replacing dead ball specialist Charlie Mulgrew who we expect to sign a 3 year-deal with Sheffield United this week.

Miller feels we have enough cover at left back with Foster and Grassi and so the small transfer budget that McGhee has should be spent on finding a striker.

Miller echoing Dons fans said in today`s Daily Record “Signing a free kick specialist isn`t a priority. Our concern is getting a striker who can guarantee goals.’

It`s no secret that for a number of seasons now Aberdeen have struggled to find the net. Last season`s top scorer Steven MacLean, with five SPL goals, has returned to Plymouth after his loan spell, and next inline was Darren Mackie, only netting four league goals.

The question which needs answering is who is available and at a price that Aberdeen can afford.
