Aberdeen goalkeeper Stuart Nelson has been offered a two-year deal by Nott’s County, subject to a medical.

The former Doncaster Rovers, Brentford, Leyton Orient and Norwich City goalie made only three appearances last season for the Dons, in his only season in the SPL.

It leaves the Dons with inexperienced goalies 19 year old Scott Bain and 21 year old John Bateman, who was on loan to Peterhead last season, as back-up to Jamie Langfield.

The loss of Nelson just adds to the problems McGhee faces to build a new squad that can challenge for honours this season.

Fans are frustrated with the lack of activity in the transfer market and with a number of players having already left, a replacement for Nelson will now also need to be found.
