One of Aberdeen`s most promising young players, Fraser Fyvie, turned 16 last week, allowing him to sign full-time professional forms. The talented Midfielder has represented Scotland on numerous occasions, including at under 17 level and often plays in the under 19 team at Pittodrie.

It seems Aberdeen now face a challenge in trying to convince Fyvie to sign on at Pittodrie after it was revealed in today`s Evening Express he has received several offers down South which involve bumper signing on fees. If, as the dons hope, Fyvie signs for Aberdeen, Calderwood has already laid out plans for the 16 year old to train with the first team next season, a clear indication of how highly the youngster is rated at Pittodrie. Calderwood told the Evening Express:

“We hope Fraser will choose to remain with us because I`m sure it would be better for him in the long run.

“I`ve already spoken to Fraser and made it clear how highly we rate him.

“If Fraser comes in full-time this summer he will start training with the first team immediately.

“He is a man in a boy`s body, the lad has so much potential it`s hard to see him do anything but succeed as a professional.
“It was expected other clubs would show an interest as well because Fraser has done so well playing for Scotland.
“It`s likely he is going to be left with a tough decision to make.

“But it would be a real shame if Fraser didn`t finish up at Pittodrie.

“He will be offered the chance to rise up through the ranks quickly here.
“I don`t know if that would be the case at some other clubs.”

It is clear Fyvie is an excellent prospect and hopefully all involved will do all they can to ensure he remains at Aberdeen.
