Bhoys linked with Charlie

Apparently Charlie Mulgrew has been linked with a possible return to Celtic, as reported in today’s Evening Express.

The Glasgow born defender progressed through Celtic’s youth system, turning professional in 2002, but never made a first team appearance.

Mulgrew was eventually transferred to Wolves in 2006 after a period on loan to Dundee Utd. Signing for the Dons in 2008 after another loan spell this time with Southend Utd.

There has been confirmed interest from Sheffield United for the former Dons player now available on a Bosman. Surely the Celtic link is purely paper talk, more pre-season rubbish.

The media will clutch at any straw they can get. You have to remember that they are getting nothing from Celtic so have to fabricate it all. They do know Celtic don’t have a left fullback. Mulgrew fits the bill and has a history at Celtic. personally, I’d like to see him back with us, but I don’t see him being much more of a regular than he was before. he could be a good back-up player but thats really about it. One things for sure though, if Celtic ask, they will get him.

I agree weetim67 if Celtic want him they’ll get him. Rumour is he’s holding off making a decision on Sheffield United to see if Celtic will get in touch. Celtic could easily afford his wages and I bet Mulgrew would like to prove he could make it at Celtic, at the second attempt. I think he could hold a regular first team place but I’d rather he went to the Blades, don’t fancy facing one of his set pieces.
